What to Expect

A Private Wellness Destination

A private destination immersed in the Mayan jungle.

Nuuku is a place to slow down, reconnect, and experience nature differently.

Set within approximately 4 hectares of private land, our six boutique villas are surrounded by the living environment of the Mayan jungle — a setting shaped by nature, the seasons, and a slower rhythm of life.

Because Nuuku is intentionally different from a traditional hotel or resort, there are a few things we want every guest to know before arriving.

Understanding the environment will help you arrive prepared and fully enjoy your stay.

THE MAYAN JUNGLE EXPERIENCE

Nature is an essential part of Nuuku.

Being immersed in the jungle means sharing the surroundings with the native flora and fauna that call this environment home. Wildlife, insects, vegetation, weather conditions, and natural sounds change throughout the year.

You may hear birds, frogs, insects, and other wildlife during the day and, depending on the season, throughout the night. During the rainy season, the sounds of the jungle can become especially vibrant and sometimes loud.

Wildlife encounters and natural jungle activity are part of the experience and cannot be completely controlled or eliminated.

If you are particularly sensitive to wildlife, insects, natural sounds, or tropical conditions, please consider this before booking.

TROPICAL CLIMATE & HUMIDITY

Nuuku is located approximately 20 kilometers into the jungle, where naturally high humidity is part of the tropical environment.

Humidity increases significantly during the rainy season, generally from May through November.

Guests with strong sensitivities or allergies related to high-humidity environments should consider whether this type of destination is appropriate for them before booking.

RAIN & HURRICANE SEASON

Hurricane season in the Riviera Maya generally extends from June through November.

Although Nuuku is not oceanfront, tropical storms and hurricanes may affect the entire region.

During severe weather, guests may experience heavy rain, strong winds, temporary flooding conditions, or power outages.

Because public utility restoration is outside Nuuku’s control, outages may occasionally last from several hours to several days. Services dependent on electricity — including internet, hot water, lighting, air conditioning, pumps, and other amenities — may be temporarily interrupted.

GETTING TO NUUKU

Part of Nuuku’s privacy comes from its secluded jungle location.

A car or pre-arranged private transportation is necessary to reach the property. Public transportation is not available in our area.

We strongly recommend arranging transportation before arrival. Our concierge may assist with transportation recommendations or arrangements when available.

INTERNET & CONNECTIVITY

The jungle invites you to disconnect.

Wi-Fi is available, but because of our remote location, connectivity and speed cannot be guaranteed.

Internet service is generally suitable for messaging, email, and some social media use. Streaming, video calls, virtual meetings, large downloads, and other high-bandwidth activities may not work consistently.

If reliable high-speed internet is essential during your stay, please keep this limitation in mind before booking.

A PRIVATE PROPERTY

Nuuku is set within approximately 4 hectares of private land and includes six boutique villas surrounded by nature.

Registered guests share access to the cenote, swimming pool, palapa, and other designated common spaces.

To preserve the privacy, security, and tranquility of the experience, these areas are exclusively for registered Nuuku guests.

Outside visitors are not permitted unless specifically authorized in advance by Nuuku management.--

A SMOKE-FREE ENVIRONMENT

Nuuku is a 100% smoke-free property.

Smoking is prohibited throughout the entire property, including villas, terraces, common areas, the cenote, swimming pool, palapa, gardens, pathways, and surrounding grounds.

This policy protects our guests, our natural environment, and helps reduce fire risks within the jungle.

ALCOHOL & PROHIBITED SUBSTANCES

Nuuku staff may only provide or assist with alcoholic beverages and related services specifically offered or authorized through the official Nuuku guest guide.

Staff members may not independently purchase, obtain, arrange, or provide alcohol outside these authorized services.

Illegal substances are strictly prohibited on the property. Nuuku staff may not purchase, obtain, arrange, facilitate, or provide illegal substances under any circumstances.

WELLNESS EXPERIENCES & OUTSIDE SERVICES

Our concierge may assist with recommendations and help coordinate additional experiences or services during your stay.

Some experiences may be provided by independent practitioners or third-party providers.

When a service is not expressly sold and provided directly by Nuuku, the arrangement is between the guest and the independent provider. Nuuku is not responsible for the acts, omissions, availability, cancellations, safety, quality, or performance of independent third-party providers.

RESERVATIONS & APPOINTMENTS

Massages, wellness experiences, dining, transportation, excursions, and other services may require advance reservations.

Please arrive on time for all scheduled appointments.

Our service partners reserve time and personnel specifically for you. Late arrivals beyond the applicable cutoff time, missed appointments, or no-shows may remain responsible for the **full cost of the reserved service**.

Cancellation and rescheduling policies vary depending on the service and provider.

GRATUITIES

Tips are never required, but they are always sincerely appreciated.

If a member of our team or one of our service partners makes your experience especially memorable, gratuities are a meaningful way to recognize their service.
